In 2015, the talented 6’5” Canadian ended a fourth consecutive season in the top 15 and achieved a career high of No. 4 in May. This impressive form has continued into the 2016 season, with Raonic winning his first nine matches and clinching his eighth career title in Brisbane; defeating legend Roger Federer in the final and avenging his loss to the Swiss player in the Brisbane final the previous year. This success has continued with a semi-final appearance at the Australian Open and a third ATP Masters 1000 final at Indian Wells, as well as two quarter-finals at both Miami and Monte Carlo.

Raonic first gained international acclaim by reaching the fourth round of the 2011 Australian Open as a qualifier, grasping the attention of the tennis world and being referred to as "a future superstar". This, coupled with his first ATP World Tour title three weeks later, lead to his World ranking rising from No. 152 to No. 37 in a month. This achievement was recognised by the ATP, and Ranoic was awarded the ‘ATP Newcomer of the Year’ award to finish off a great season.

The most distinctive part of Raonic’s game is his powerful and accurate serve. Statistically, Raonic is among the greatest servers in the open era, winning 91% of service games and producing a total of 4,797 aces to date.
