David Ferrer is a true veteran on the ATP Tour having turned professional a remarkable seventeen years ago. He has earned legendary status in his native Spain having been part of three Davis Cup winning teams, notably beating Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina in a five set thriller to set up victory in 2011. Ferrer has a hugely impressive record at Grand Slams having reached the final of the French Open in 2013, the semi-finals of the Australian Open and US Open twice each and the quarter-finals of Wimbledon twice. Such is his consistency he finished in the year-end top-10 on six consecutive occasions between 2010 and 2015, reaching a career high ATP Ranking of 3 in July 2013. He holds the record of winning the most matches on the ATP Tour without having won a Grand Slam, taking his tally up to an incredible 700 wins earlier this year. He is known for his fitness, quick footwork and determination and will be confident of a strong performance at Wimbledon this year.
